Elvis Lives is my attempt to document each of Elvis Presley's live performances, particularly the venue. The website grew out of my curiosity about how many venues where Elvis played are still standing, and how they compare now to when Elvis left the building. You could read the title as Elvis Lives (rhymes with 'gives') in the sense that his musical legacy lives on, or as Elvis Lives (rhymes with 'fives') in the sense that it's a timeline of his live performances. Click the three bars on the top right and you'll find a dropdown menu of every show and venue I've profiled.
I'm mostly working in chronological order, so more dates and venues will be added as I follow the trajectory of Elvis' career.
Most of what you'll find here is based on research done by others well before I joined the fray, and you can find my sources at the end of each article. While I haven't brought much new material to the table, what I believe I have added to the conversation is an individual description of each venue Elvis played in a user-friendly chronological format. Many sites have a list of shows with no details, or general descriptions of venues Elvis played multiple times, or compilations of newspaper clippings, but here you'll find everything broken down by individual performance with as much relevant information as I could find.
