November 20th marked Elvis' fifth Louisiana Hayride performance at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium (then and now shown above). Despite bombing a show at Shreveport's Lake Cliff Club the night prior, things were coming together fast for the nineteen-year-old, likely faster than even the most ambitious Memphis teenager could have considered. After this Hayride date, Elvis, Scotty, and Bill would hit the road for Arkansas, Texas, and broader horizons.
